MOST EFFECTIVE FRUIT & VEGETABLES SUPPLEMENTS

Your guide to making the best informed decision...

The best way to reduce your risk of disease is to eat healthy. The right fuel in your body makes it run better. Greens, fruits and vegetables are three key food groups known to contribute to better health.
What is the proper amount of fruits and veggies to be eating every day?

The CDC and the Produce for Better Health Foundation have launched a national campaign with the message, "Fruits & Veggies -- More Matters".

The new slogan replaces the old "5 a Day" campaign, which dates back to the early '90s. The reason? Under the U.S. government's latest food guidelines, five servings of fruits and vegetables may not be enough. Adults need anywhere from 7-13 cups of produce daily to get all the health benefits of fruits and vegetables -- including possible protection against obesity, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and cancer.

How many people are consuming at least 5 or more servings of fruits/vegetables each day?

· Less than 1% of men & 4% of women ages 18 to 24
· Less than 6% of men & 9% of women ages 25 to 34
· Less than 14% of men & 16% of women ages 35 to 49
· Less than 24% of men & 22% of women ages 50 to 64

Eating the proper amounts of fruits and veggies each day has been shown to lower the risk of chronic disease and help reduce inflammation.
Here are the key factors we used when ranking our top picks.
  • Doctor Formulated - We think it's important that we only take supplements from respected medical doctors, their years of experience often leads to some really amazing formulations that you can trust to put into your body.
  • Convenient Capsule Form - Greens powders often have lots of added sugar to overcome the generally awful taste of veggies powder supplements, therefore getting your supplement in capsule form avoids any taste issues.
  • Key Nutrients In A Single Bottle - There are many greens, fruit or veggies supplements that stand on their own, but we like getting all our key nutrients from a single supplement in order to not have to take so many servings each day of different supplements.
  • Clear Labeling - When a supplement does not clearly state how much of the key ingredients are inside it's usually a sign that they're hiding something. We like brands that are transparent about what you're putting into your body.
We did our homework and researched tons of supplements, here are the ones we deem as being most effective for meeting recommended daily nutrition guidelines.

Best Health Supplement Reviews

In 1993, I decided to open up a Day Health Spa and Salon from scratch, which became Top Rated and was featured in Allure, Self and Glamour magazines under Sensational Salons and Spas of Orange County.

This is where I first learned to be very careful when choosing products like supplements. I realized how much deception was going on and taught myself how to read labels, understand the different ingredients, and see past the hype.

While helping clients at my Health Spa, I realized that many people were having similar life issues as my own, tired all the time, difficulty with focus, sleep issues, nutrition problems, and most importantly a sluggish metabolism!

Many of them started using natural whole food supplements every day in order to lose weight, have more energy, improve digestion and really boost their overall health, etc.

I started looking into the different greens, fruit and vegetable whole food supplements I heard about, and new ones I’ve researched online, and finally try to make sense of what’s out there. I’ve tried many of the top products myself and realized that there is a difference, in many cases a big one. All I can say is buyers should be well informed!

So I decided to do a lot of quality research & start this site to help people like you make the best choices for their health and well being. I really hope that the information here is helpful.

#1 - KaraMD® Pure Nature

Pros

  • High Amounts Of Key Ingredients
  • Doctor Formulated
  • 90-Day Money Back Guarantee
  • Non GMO & Vegan Friendly
  • Much Less Expensive Than Others
  • Reliable Customer Support

Cons

  • Shipping Took An Extra Day

The Bottom Line

Pure Nature by KaraMD takes the #1 spot for many reasons. It is the one that contains a rather healthy amount of key ingredients disclosed on its supplement facts panel.

Doctor Formulated blend conveniently provides wholesome greens, fruits and veggies to create a nutrient-rich superfood as a great way to feel amazing all day.

Pure Nature provides a healthy blend of fiber from greens & apples, and a big metabolism punch from fruits and veggies. Fiber is well known to both promote and support a healthy digestive tract.

They also offer a 90-Day Unconditional Money Back Guarantee on all their products. In this day and age it says something when a brand puts their money where their mouth is.

Pure Nature also contains no soybeans and is Non GMO & Vegan Friendly.

What we like the most is that you only have to take 4 capsules of Pure Nature per day to get this supplement's full serving of key greens, fruits and veggies.

At only $39.95 for a 30 day supply it is also MUCH cheaper than the competition.

#2 - Balance Of Nature

Pros

  • Doctor Formulated
  • Well Known
  • Good Customer Service

Cons

  • Very Expensive
  • Contains Soybeans
  • Requires Six (6) Daily Capsules
  • Lower Levels Of Key Ingredients

The Bottom Line

Balance of Nature secures the second spot on my list. This product is well known, but in my opinion it has some notable deficiencies, especially given its much higher price.

The ingredients in the Balance of Nature capsules are listed in alphabetical order. This isn’t really helpful for customers because it may actually hide which vegetables and fruits are the most prevalent in the formula. While many supplements have proprietary blends, the main ingredients by weight or concentration are generally listed first on the supplement panel in a formula blend.

Getting Two (2) bottles and taking Six (6) capsules DOES NOT usually mean more nutritional value to the consumer!!!

With fruits and veggies supplements, you have to trust that the company hasn’t bulked up the cheaper ingredients, such as the use of apple fiber or soybean as fillers while adding much smaller amounts of the more nutritious ones. This may be done just so the nutritious ingredients can be listed on the supplement label, regardless of whether their amounts are sufficient. It is difficult for me to trust Balance of Nature when reading their supplement panel.

KaraMD’s Pure Nature has a higher dose of high quality nutrients disclosed on it’s panel and Dr. Kara has carefully engineered a very potent 2,800 milligram delivery of super nutrients into ONLY Four (4) Capsules Per Day at a much better price!!!

Unfortunately, Balance of Nature also contains soybeans...what on earth were they thinking including soybean in their formula? Soy is an estrogenic ingredient that can lead to health issues. Soybeans are low in nutrition value, contain problematic substances like phytic acid, can cause allergies, and are already in many processed foods.

In my opinion, Balance of Nature falls critically short in several respects since it is very difficult to validate the level of its key ingredients, which appear to be less than experts recommend, and it contains soybeans.

From an economic standpoint, Balance of Nature is also significantly more expensive at $99.95 for JUST a 30-day supply.

#3 - Athletic Greens

Pros

  • Well Known
  •  Good Product Reviews
  • Helpful Customer Service

Cons

  • Not Doctor Formulated
  • Contains Apple Based Filler
  • Inconvenient Powder Form
  • Very Expensive

The Bottom Line

Athletic Greens lands my third place ranking. This product is very well known, although it is not doctor formulated. For me and my colleagues, when it comes to something as important as my overall daily health, it is critical that a supplement be doctor formulated in order for me to have real confidence in the product.

Again with fruits and veggies supplements, you have to be careful and confirm that the company hasn’t bulked up the cheaper ingredients, such as the use of apple fiber or soybeans, as fillers.

When looking at Athletic Greens’ raw superfood complex blend, which is the major portion of its daily serving amount, the third ingredient listed is apple powder which may mean there is a lot of filler in this blend, even though it does have a healthy amount of vitamins and minerals.

While Athletic Greens does contain some specifically added ingredients like probiotics, it is rather inconvenient for people on the go since it only comes in powder form. Also, in my experience, most greens powder supplements taste awful so they become very hard to drink and people generally lose interest in them.

In my opinion, Athletic Greens falls short of a better ranking since its primary blend appears to contain a higher level of apple fiber and it only comes in an inconvenient powder form that is usually subject to taste issues.

Economically Athletic Greens is very expensive at $99.00 for JUST a 30-day supply.
